A welcome from Sue . . .
Hi, my name is Susan O'Brien. I'm a full-time Director of a Child Care Centre in Caloundra and one of the other great passions in my life is working as a volunteer at MCSR. I love the peace and tranquility of the rainforest and I love spending a few hours on the information desk at weekends to share the beauty of the forest with visitors - local families, children and tourists from around the world.
It's all been a great learning experience for me. We have a wonderful team of volunteers and staff here at the Reserve with a diverse range of expertise in the local flora and fauna, in environmental education, and of course in people and forest management - so there is always something new to learn.
I'm just one of a large team of volunteers. It's always great to welcome in new faces and talent so if you think you might like to join in please get in touch.
Personally, I enjoy working on the information desk but you can get involved in whatever suits you most from learning about how to be a forest guide to helping out with the various environmental management plans.
There's a great sense of community amongst the volunteers here and we like to get together when we can for BBQs, special talks from visiting experts and other socials.
